The fourth studio album of Goapele is entitled "Break Of Dawn". You will find nine tracks on this album. It is fascinating to discover the fresh sound of Goapele. Although the sounds are familiar the album "Break Of Dawn" is exciting. The passion of the roaring lion in the song "Play" is in huge contrast to the tinkling in the lullaby "Hush". Yet both songs will capture your full attention. The song "Play" is so full of suspense that you will play it repeatedly. A lovely feature in "Play" is the kind of tibetan sound in the chorus. You will probably replay most of the songs on "Break Of Dawn". On the addictive title track you will put on your dancing shoes. The song "Tears On My Pillow" is really vintage soul and it might remind you of "It's A Man's World" from James Brown. A song so pure and true and full of mother love is "Hush". It is so great to feel how Goapele puts her heart into the songs. When you listen to "Undertow" you really feel the currents taking away the bottom under your feet. The soulful ballads like "Pieces" are the sweetest songs on the album. A nice club song is "Milk & Honey".(TA) Stand Out Tracks: Play, Tears On My Pillow, Undertow, Break Of Dawn, Hush, Pieces |
