| He's
new. He's brilliant. He's RANDEVYN. Tagged as one of Atlanta's most
promising new breakthrough artists, "Randevyn" (Pronounced,
Ran-dev-in) has begun his slow but sure rise on to the dirty south's
star-studded scene.
This vocal heavyweight and self-proclaimed "soul singer"
- as the intro to his album release proclaims, got his start at
age 10 singing leads in his dad's gospel choir while living in Europe.
After returning to the US at 13, Randevyn's father (a singing preacher)
began teaching Randevyn how to play the piano - and the young maestro's
musical ear began to grow. As a teen, Randevyn spent time singing
with Stellar Award winning Joe Pace and the Colorado Mass Choir.
Fueled with drive and passion, Randevyn relocated to Georgia where
he began looking over the shoulders of multi-million dollar producers
as he crashed at countless studio sessions, developing as a brilliant
R&B singer, songwriter and producer. Mixing up R&B soul,
hip hop and colors of jazz and gospel harmony, Randevyn has a knack
for blending up smooth urban tracks with both commercial and underground
appeal. Randevyn's vocal quality brings us pleasant reminders of
music from Sam Cooke, Donnie Hathaway and even Kim Burrell, however
there is still a definite touch all his own. No matter when or where
you hear Randevyn, the timber of his voice is uniquely unmistakeable
on any track.
In
just two short years, this new kid on the block's list of credits
reads like a "Who's Who in Music." Without the backbone
of a major label, this unsigned artist has taken his music across
the globe. In addition to sharing the stage with such greats as
India.Arie, Floetry, and Bilal, he's also done background work for
Ludacris, and producers Jazze Pha, Rodney Jerkins, and LaShon Daniels.
It wasn't long before Randevyn's urban, classic tenor voice captured
the attention of CEO Sincere Johnson (Sin.J Entertainment) who quickly
signed the Atlanta-based singer to management an! d began work on
a record that would include writing and production savvy from Randevyn
along side Ted Winn, PJ Morton, Meco Thomas and Clarence Hill. Randevyn's
recent debut album release entitled, "SolTrain" has since
been nominated for best independent album of the year (SEA) and
described by CDBaby as "one of the best R&B projects ever
available at CDBaby". SolTrain has also been listed at the
top of the mega music site's "editor's picks" since it's
arrival. Keep your eyes open - if you haven't heard of him yet,
it's just a matter of time.
